Worried sick

Hi all I am 52 and post menopause I recently had a bleed the dr took bloods and referred me for 2ww scans, my ca125 levels are 55.

I went for scans and the dr told me my womb lining looks fine and my results would be sent to dr on Monday,

I called the dr and was told they haven’t received my results but then received a phone call from the hospital saying I need to go for a face to face appointment with a gynaecologist , has anyone else had a similar experience, i am worried about why my results haven’t gone to gp when the dr who performed the scan said she couldn’t see anything .

  • Hello Thompson52,

It's reassuring news that they told you that your womb lining looked fine and that they couldn't find anything suspicious. I am not sure really why you need to be seen face to face for a gynaecology appointment but try not to read too much into it - it may be that they want you to have a follow up appointment to discuss this post menopausal bleeding. I hope that you find out more soon about what your results are and that you won't have to wait too long now for your gynaecology appointment. Being seen by a gynaecologist will allow you to talk to a real specialist about these gynaecological issues you have been experiencing so you will have your results interpreted by a real expert. Take this opportunity too to ask questions and write these down beforehand so that you come out of the appointment hopefully reassured and with some clarity as to what may have caused this post menopausal bleeding.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have been through something similar before and that they will come and share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
