I recently got poorly at the beginning of the year and had to have a chest xray they found a shadow and give me antibiotics. I had to go for a follow up that showed it was still there since then I have had a ct scan results came back a hour later and they found Persistent patchy opacification at the left mid zone and right basal

linear atelectasis with similar appearances to previous.

No new gross focal consolidation.

RED ALERT - commenced on lung pathway

I am in for a bronchoscopy on Friday and am feeling very nervous.  Are they looking for cancer a feel like am in the dark about it all and not been told much.
