Hard small lump on breast

I’m 27, I’ve recently just stopped breastfeeding my son and have noticed a lump, the doctor thought it might have been mastitis but I’ve finished the antibiotics and it’s still there. It’s remained the same size. I’ve noticed no change in what my breast looks like, I’m worried it could be something serious I have two young children and I dread to think what might happened. I haven’t had a referral put through for a scan and my next appointment with the doctor is on Monday I’m not sure if I should call and have him put through the referral.

  • Welcome to the forum Gruffelo although I'm sorry to hear the antibiotics didn't help with your breast lump.

I know this must be worrying but when you see the doctor on Monday you can update them on the situation and hopefully get a referral put through to the breast clinic.

I'm sure some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to have a quick chat with one of our cancer nurses about this, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They'll do all they can to support you and address any other worries or concerns you may have at this time.

We're thinking of you Gruffelo and wishing you all the best for Monday.

    Kind regards,
