VAB results breast

Hi

I just wondered roughly how long people usually wait for these results. I had biopsies previously which were inconclusive B3 so they said they didn't know if I had cancer or not which is why they asked for vacc6 assisted biopsies to be able to take a larger sample of tissue. The largest mass is 8cm there was also a 3cm both in my right breast.

I have been waiting since 14th Feb and Breast MDT meeting  was today and still nothing not sure what's taking so long does that mean it's good news?

  • Hi Emerald1,

I am sorry to hear you have been waiting for a while for your results. Our website has information on the different types of breast biopsies including the vacuum assisted biopsy and for most breast biopsies, it sounds like you should expect results within about 2 weeks. Obviously this may just be an estimate and may vary so I would perhaps get in touch with your GP or the hospital just to find out whether they can update you on how long these results might take to come through.  I don't think it necessarily means anything - good news or bad news - but it may be there has been a delay so don't hesitate to chase these results. I hope you find out more soon and that the breast MDT meeting went well.

Other members of our community may have had this type of biopsy before and will be able to share with you their experience of waiting for these results.

    Best wishes,
