Cervical biopsy results

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this?

The end of December I had a smear that came back with moderate high risk cell changes and positive HPV.

I then had a colposcopy where they took a punch biopsy,I spoke to the hospital on Friday and they told me that my biopsy is showing inflammation and that my case is going to MDT next week.

Has anyone been through anything similar?

  • Hello SashSash

I'm sorry to hear that your recent cervical screening results came back with positive HPV and moderate cell changes. It's good to hear that you've already had your colposcopy appointment and that the results of that biopsy are back with the specialist team.

It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about the results and what they may mean for you. It's routine for results to be discussed at an MDT so that the specialists can make the best decision for any treatment or monitoring that they feel is appropriate for you. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long after the MDT this week to hear some news.

We know that waiting can be difficult for many people. It can sometimes help to talk things through with someone and I wondered if you might find it helpful to talk with one of our nurses ahead of your next appointment. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you will have some positive news and reassurance soon Sashsash. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes.
