I am sorry to hear about your raised platelets and I hope that your GP has given you some advice on the raised platelets and what they mean. The hip pain seems to be a separate issue but do ask your doctor whether it could be linked to the raised platelets but it's reassuring that the Hip X-Ray has only flagged minor degenerative changes. Do talk to your doctor about this hip pain as it must be a bit distracting and unpleasant to have to deal with this - your GP will be able to advise you on the best type of pain relief or whether you could benefit from any other type of treatment for your hip problem. Mention to your doctor too your cancer worries as they will be in the best position to reassure you and explain everything thoroughly. 

I hope that you will hear from others here who have had similar issues with platelets combined with hip pain and that they will be happy to share their experience with you. I hope that you get some definite answers soon and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.
