2ww for mole

Hello, I have had a strange mole for a couple of years now but recently noticed it was itchy and had grown. I went to the gp last week and they referred me to the hospital who put me on a 2 week urgent referral. I’ve just received an appointment date which is 2 months from now! Is this normal or should I get in contact?? 
to add to that I’m pretty sure my mole has gotten bigger overnight so I’m having a bit of a panic! Thanks
