Delve in areola

Hi,

I've recently noticed a delve in the lower part of my areola, and am worried that I'm just being overly worried? It's only visible when I lay down however is relatively deep. I haven't really noticed any changes apart from this apart from slight discolouration but I'm unsure as to whether that's always been there as I do have a larger chest.

I know the main warning signs for breast cancer however am unsure about what I'm meant to be feeling for? I'm going to book an appointment at the GP for this, but I'm generally just concerned I'm overthinking it? I can't find any sort of references online which has grown my concerns slightly

While it's natural to feel worried, booking an appointment with your GP is the right step to take. Your GP can carry out a physical examination, discuss your symptoms, and provide guidance on any necessary next steps, such as further testing or referral to a specialist.

When it comes to breast cancer, it's important to be aware of changes in the breast such as lumps, changes in size or shape, nipple discharge, or changes in the skin texture or appearance. However, not all changes indicate cancer, and many breast changes are benign. Nevertheless, it's crucial to have any changes evaluated by a healthcare professional for peace of mind.

Take care, and I hope your appointment with the GP goes well.
