Dimple in breast

Hi all!!

hoping for some advice/reassurance.. I don’t know!!

I am a breastfeeding mum to an 14 month old, and have noticed some changes in my breast. I have a couple of dimples at the bottom of it and a kind of pain.. it’s hard to explain but it can be a mix between a dull ache, itching, stabbing and feeling really hot (not to touch but almost a burning sensation).

I saw the GP on Tuesday and they said if I wasn’t breastfeeding then they’d be concerned, but I am to monitor it for 2 weeks and then go back if no changes.

I can’t settle my mind racing, constant googling and last night I was up until 1am (not with the baby for once !) because I was so anxious about it all.

I did another e consult last night asking to be referred now instead of waiting 2 weeks but I am yet to hear back.

I’m not sure what I’m looking for with this post.. feeling a bit lost and worried, but perhaps someone has had similar?

thank you so much if you made it this far.. I feel like I have totally rambled xx

  • A very warm welcome to the forum MLIZ04 although I'm sorry for the worry these changes in your breast are causing.

Many of our members have been in a similar situation so they will definitely understand your concerns, and I'm sure it won't be long until some of them stop by to share their experiences and advice.

If you'd would like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to support you and put your mind at ease during this anxious time.

I hope you're able to get your referral and that your breast changes are no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,
