Biopsy wait and MRI

Hi all,

I had an appointment at the breast clinic on Monday. Consultant I saw said all seems fine and ticked discharge but sent me for a routine mammogram and ultrasound.

2 hours, 3 biopsies, another mammogram later the same consultant was concerned and wanted an MRI doing which I have today.

Naturally, I've googled myself stupid and am worried sick.

Rae.

  • Hi Rae,

Poor you - what a rollercoaster of emotions it must have been for you on Monday with first being told all seemed fine and then being told you needed an MRI. At least things are moving fast and it's good they were able to do all the tests within a short space of time. I hope that the MRI went well. As you will see on our page on the MRI scan , you should get your results within 1 to 2 weeks

Waiting for results can make you anxious and there are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news. It does mention that it is best, as you have found out yourself, to stay away from Google as it will only make you feel a lot worse and will never give you any satisfactory or reliable answers.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that you get your results soon and that it all turns out be nothing of concern. If you have a moment, do come back here and let us know what you find out after you have had your test results.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you Lucie, my MRI is being fast tracked as my consultant wants to do all the results at once. Apparently its a 4-6 week wait at the moment so luckily mine will be just over a week. Rae x
