If you get a follow up appointment is it always bad news

I had a shave biopsy on a big skin legion a few weeks ago. The wound is now infected but the gp is treating that with antibiotics but got an appointment though today on the nhs app for next week. Does this mean bad news or do they sometimes give good news in person to. I am trying not to worry but not feeling the best anyway and this infection has made my long Covid worse. I will try not to think the worst before the appointment and not sure if having an infection will effect further treatment but at least they know what bacteria was causing the infection so am on the right antibiotics now.

  • Yes, they definitely give good news in person too. I was once told they would call me with results, then got a letter for an in-person appointment and panicked that they must have found something, but it was 100% clear.

The way they tell you doesn't usually mean anything one way or the other. Usually, they will give the news in person whether it is good or bad.
