I have posted before, but I am hoping I can put other people's minds at rest whatever the diagnosis. I am under the breast clinic for LCIS which was found after my lumpectomy for a large fibroadenoma. I am 52 with dense breasts and have begun to come to terms with living with high risk lesions. I used to worry with every lump and bump but have realized that the breast clinics are on it and if anything suspicious/ needs further testing they would contact you asap. With detailed reports I have learned not to panick as knowledge is power. Most of my lumps are probably due to fibrocystic breast, cysts etc.
I have been waiting for my yearly mammogram results since end of Dec. I decided to ring them today and was told nothing much has changed and nothing to worry about. I have still been told to keep my March appointment for the breast clinic. Apparently it's just for them to chat / explain what's going on( I have lots of benign changes)and to just examine my breasts.
I think once you're under a breast clinic radar they look after you really well, even if it's a wait and see approach like mine. From experience no news is good news and you will be contacted quickly if anything needs to be done .
Thinking of everyone out there who is waiting on results/ going for tests.
Best wishes Guinea pig lover.
