Hi just looking for those who have had a similar experience and some info on what to expect at an urgent haematologist appointment?
I have had swelling below my collarbone for a few months so went to the doctors who found 2 lumps in my breast and was concerned with 2 swollen lymph glands in my neck (i’ve had these for months never thought anything of them). I was sent for 2 week referral had ultrasound on breast and was told its normal breast tissue and lumps in my neck are reactive nodes. I felt a bit fobbed off by doctors due to my age (28) and being relatively healthy.
Its been 3 weeks since my original appointment and I now have swelling over both collarbones, various swollen lymph nodes in my neck, above my collarbone, in my groin. Lump on the front of my shoulder, 3 small lumps on my leg. Large swelling/lump on my cheek and a lot of pain across both cheek bones and jaw. I am extremely tired, leg and arm cramps and have chest pains.
Managed to get doctors appointment and was urgently referred to haematologist, due to my symptoms she didn’t want to wait for blood test results and was concerned. My appointment this is Tuesday. I have since had my bloods back and have slightly low neutrophils at 1.7. Unsure if this is a worrying sign? Really worried about Lymphoma. Finding the waiting really hard.
Wondering what to expect at a haematologist appointment?
