I've recently had a positive FIT test and have now to go for a colonoscopy...I've had no symptoms apart from loose stools and tiredness..should I be worried
I had a fit score of 168 , i have a 5cm tumour and going for a cat scan this week, the only symptom i have is mucus in my stool with a small amount of blood sometimes , a sore feeling on my left hand side which could have been caused by the colonoscopy, other than that i feel fine
Probably not. Lots of things can cause those symptoms and a FIT test only tests for blood in the stool. It isn't a cancer test. It could be something serious like cancer or IBD or diverticulitis, but it could also be something like IBS or a polyp or an infection.
From what I've read online, I think the odds of cancer are about 10%.
