chronic illness or something sinister?

Hi person reading this,

I'm (27F) 1 day post OGD with 4 biopsies and in pain hoping to speak to anyone going through something similar.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2021, all the signs & symptoms were there (high CRP/ESR, high Calprotectin, weight loss, passing blood). Colonoscopy was horrendous but clear so after pleading I got an MRI & they saw 2ft of affected small bowel.

Was pretty stable since starting biologics but around November 2023 started losing appetite for snacks. I thought this was great, but then loss of appetite starting increasing to main meals and fluids. I then started having difficulty swallowing; it felt like food was getting stuck, pain behind the breastbone. I lost 17lbs from end of Nov/start of Dec to now (10/02/24). Went to GP nearly 2 weeks ago after ignoring as best as I could thinking just some disease activity increase, but he seemed genuinely concerned and red flagged me to gastro, wrote to my gastro consultant and got me in touch with my IBD nurse.

I got a cancellation slot and had the gastroscopy done yesterday. Diagnosed with inflammation of the oesophagus & stomach. 4 biopsies taken and told to wait 8-9 weeks for results. Part of my brain is telling me upper gastro malignancy. Recent bloods came back this week as low in iron, haemoglobin & platelets borderline & high ferritin. I'm still in a lot of pain after the OGD; my chest and oesophagus are very painful in waves, I'm exhausted, I'm pale with dark purple circles under my eyes.

Even just say hi, as I've been online for days wanting some advice that's not Google. peace & calm
