I want to r/o lymphoma but feel GP isn't taking me seriously

I have suffered with migraines and tiredness/ fatigue for years! I also have 2 swollen lymph nodes one each side of my neck for a very long time, never thought anything of them just assumed they were my norm.

I do feel they may have grown a little, they are around 2cm each, rubbery not sore and move when pressed they never go down. I suffer with headaches and with itching skin more so at night.

I saw the GP who wasn't concerned about the lumps as said they are enlarged due to chronic sinusitis however they never go down?

I have had bloods which are all normal. I would just like a second option or USS just to rule out, how can a GP be sure from feeling?

Also last night I found another small lump, this one is above my clavicle it's very small and feels hard not sore. I have constant neck ache the last few days.

Should I push for an USS? Or just stop over reacting with my bloods being normal.

  • I think sometimes peace of mind is the most important thing - I wouldn’t think of anything as overreacting and think about your peace of mind.

I think it would be best for you to talk to your GP about all of your concerns worries and that you would feel more reassured with an USS

  • Please keep trying to make them listen to you. Don’t take no for an answer. I don’t want to worry you and lots of non serious illnesses could have these symptoms but my husband had very similar problems and after 7 years of similar symptoms to you her was diagnosed with a cancer called Sezary syndrome/Mycosis Fungoides. It’s a Leukaemia and a Lymphoma at the same time. It’s very very rare but it’s definitely worth mentioning it to the hospital or your GP.  Good luck. Xx

  • Please ask them to check for Lymphoma. It’s unlikely but my husband had similar symptoms for years. The blood results kept coming back clear but eventually this is what they diagnosed. Keep pushing for more tests. Best to get it checked out. Xx

  • Thank you for your advice!

I have never heard of them either!

I have been referred to ENT for assessment and USS. I'm sure it is nothing but I just want the reassurance. Hopefully not waiting too long as I've not been fast tracked! It is constantly playing on mind xx
