Does a fast CT report mean something bad?

Hi everyone I posted a few times on here before

but basically have a hard non movable lump on my jaw, I saw a specialist who hasn’t properly diagnosed me with anything and tried to tell me it was just apart of my face yet it’s first appeared this year and has been growing (I know my own face very well)  so I had a CT scan last Friday and they said the report would take 3/4 weeks but it was ready on Monday (busy hospital too!) they took me of the cancer pathway so the CT scan was routine.

obviously with the way the nhs works I have not seen my results yet it says on my hospital app I can view on the 24th. I called up the department who even said ‘well unless you were on the urgent pathway the results wouldn’t be ready yet’ and she seemed surprised when they were and moved an appointment I had on the 22nd march to the 6th march as that’s the soonest they can do. She can’t tell me the results but I’m here quite scared now as they were done so fast!
she said on the phone ‘well the doctor has to review them then your appointment will either be changed or left as it is’ so idk if they have even been reviewed yet I know on the hospital page it says the department underperforms and even on the 2ww referral my appointment was after the 2weeks due to how busy they are

  • Hello WitchyTaco

I'm glad to hear that you've finally had a CT scan of the lump on your jaw. I know that you've posted previously about how concerned you were about this and hopefully, you will have some firm answers and reassurance over the next few weeks.

It's easy to read too much into how quickly or how long test results can take. Unfortunately the speed at which results are returned isn't always indicative of the seriousness so please try not to worry. It may be that what the team saw was something simple to diagnose and so that's why they were able to report so quickly.

Hopefully you will have the reassurance you need soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
