Massive lump

Hi everyone

My journey started a while ago with problems going for a wee. This may sound familiar to some of you!

Back in Oct 23 everything changed and I couldn't go at all. After 5 day's without peeing I went to A & E to have a balloon catheter fitted. What a relief I can tell you. A few weeks later I attended the TWAC clinic and changed to using intermittent catheters. I was told an appointment with an Urologist was required as it may be my Prostrate. At the same time my bowel movements started to change.

I now have a massive lump down below and can't sit down on hard or semi hard surfaces. The bleeding ifrom my bowel is terrible with thick red clotted blood as well as fresh red blood.

It is now Feb 24 and still no appointment with an Urologist so my GP is sending me for a colonoscopy or something like that. I feel let down,  rather isolated and scared.

My partner is very disabled and I am the sole carer needing to do everything from cooking, cleaning, dressing and washing. We rely on my income so the future isn't looking rosey to say the least.

I was trying to look for possible symptoms and treatments but the world of Google results is mind boggling and rather terrifying.

It's 3.30am and I can't sleep, partly due to the pain in my bowel and worry.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

  • Hi Marcus101,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear that you've been waiting for so long to get answers. It's good to hear that your GP is hurrying things along a bit, and I hope that it's not too long for you to wait for your appointment and any results to follow. Keep chasing as needed, explaining the difficult position you're in.

Try to avoid Googling if you can, as the information will often be irrelevant and it only tends to increase worries.

In the meantime I hope that the forum is useful for you, and we are always here for support.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
