Qfit >400. Worried

I've been having bowel issues for appox 1 year now. I noticed change in frequency, looks, andominal cramp then started noticing blood in my stool. Back in summer time my bloods came back as low iron so put on iron tablets, qFit was 61 and colonoscopy was mostly clear (some parts they couldnt see) and sent back to my gp.

Now my symptoms have gotten worse (more blood, bent over in cramp pain, passing what looks like TMI raw meat though my stool sorry). QFit this time is over 400, and have a 2ww with a consultant at the hospital. My dr hasnt informed me of what to expect etc but I'm going out my mind with worry. Ive just turned 30 and have young children. Has anyone had similar and what do i expect at the hospital? I cant stop thinking about it and getting myself so worked up.

  • Hello Ello,

When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. The best thing to do is to go is to speak to the doctor about these symptoms at your next appointment. You can find more information on what to expect here. I hope your appointment goes well and don't be afraid to share your concerns or any questions you might have.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi, I am in a very similar situation and currently waiting to be contacted by the colorectal doctors after my GP sent an urgent 2 week referral. I posted on here a couple of days ago if you want to read my story. I have all the same symptoms as you apart from the pain and my FIT test came back positive (260). I also have 2 young children and currently pregnant with my 3rd. How are you feeling now and have you managed to be seen my the specialist? x

  • Hi Kay I hope you do t mind me contacting you after reading your post. I have just had a qFIT result of 129 and am petrified. I’m now on the two week pathway so hoping to be soon soon. Just wondered what your experience was and how you are now doing? All good I hope.
