Hi! Just coming on here as I am freaking out a little bit. I went to get a coil fitted last Friday and unfortunately the GP found a growth on my cervix and I am at the hospital in a couple of days for testing etc. I am freaking out because I am having lots of symptoms such as very heavy periods and abnormal bleeding which was the reason for my coil fitting. I had routine smear and internal ultrasound 18 months ago- all were clear. However my symptoms stayed the same - I then went on the mini pill to help lighten period. It did lighten them however it made me bleed every day for 5 months. Dr then suggested coil and here I am!  I am freaking out that I tick off every symptom and I know I shouldn't read too much in to it but the GPs reaction unnerved me too. She kept asking when I was last examined and rubbing my arm asking if I was OK. It seems stupid to be focused on that part as I know she was probably trying to reassure me. Gah not sure how to not go in to a complete head spin!
