Worried about cancer

Hi all so I have been worried about cancer. So I have had bad pelvic left sided lain since last May, I was diagnosed with a bad UTI and then long story short had a CT scan that showed something on my left pelvic area. The scan showed nothing. After more problems like bloating, bad gas, going from being really constipated to really loose stools I was diagnosed with IBS. On and also bad heartburn.

My period have become irregular short like 20 days, and now I have missed one completely, I have more pain on the right side of my pelvis now lower back pain and I am in always in pain. This is either dull or sharp. When I ovulate it's agony I can't walk or move, if I didn't know what was happening I would go to A&E.

Now I have been referred to gynae but have yet to be seen, I have had a lump near my vulva for over a year but is only visible when sit or squat which go thinks is a cyst.

I am moderate risk of breast cancer due to my mums history, but my mum also have cervical and ovarian and womb cancer all before 40 before her breast cancer.

The GP has not even requested a blood test, I know it might be nothing but I am also getting nausea and dizzyness now and extremely tired. I am not pregnant as I no longer have sex

Any advice please going crazy and DRS is no help x

  • Ok thanks, so apparently The wait to see Gynae is a year does not matter about symptoms or family history and seems I am on my own.

  • Hello BabGan,

I'm sorry to hear about the sympoms you have.

The best thing to do is to keep your doctor updated about these problems. When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor. I hope you get an appointment date soon and do chase it up. You can read more about referrals here.

I hope this is helpful and the forum is here for you whenever you need it,
