Referall to ENT for lumps

Hi, I have been back and forth to my GP since beginning of November, it now coming to the end of Jan and they've referred me to an ENT for more investigations. I was just wondering how thorough they are? Basically I have lymph nodes swollen in my groin, 1 on right side of neck & 5 on the left side of my neck, one which is bigger than the others.

Has anyone had this before?

I'm very fatigued, have zero energy & constantly have headaches.

I've had blood tests and these have all come back normal apart from my folate levels which I was told should be over 5.4 but mine are currently at 2.6. I haven't been poorly for a long time now and not felt at all ill apart from the tiredness.

I started out with two raised lymph nodes and now I have 7 and they have been there for 3 months with no reason as to why they would of swelled in the first place.

Has anyone gone through something like this before? I'm worried it's something sinister and I've been back and forth to appointments for months now & just hoping the ENT actually investigates them properly for me so I can have some peace of mind or at least an answer as to why I am getting so many.

Thanks x

  • Hi Briane10,

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms. The best thing to do is to keep your doctor updated about how your feeling. Symptoms can occur for all sorts of reasons, but it's encouraging that most of your tests have come back normal. When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. You can read more about referrals here.

    I hope this is helpful,
