Hi,
I have had a swollen lymph gland in my neck for around 8 weeks now.
After about 3/4 weeks I went to the doctor who sent me for an ultra sound. This showed the gland was full of fluid so the doctor said it was probably due to an infection but to come back with any changes or concerns. I returned to the doctor as I had a continuous sore throat now and I felt the lump had grown.
I have had another ultra sound and biopsy of the lump taken but when I mentioned to the consultant I had a sore throat he did a nasal endoscopy which showed suspicious lump at the base of my tongue. He has taken a piece for a biopsy and arranged a CT & MRI scan for tomorrow. He has told me the likelihood is the lump is cancerous which is why my lymph gland is swollen. Never smoked, hardly drink and eat healthy.
To say the least I am petrified of getting the results next Friday, don’t feel like eating and feel the need to be with my family all the time.
Has anyone else had similar problems.
