Fit Test (again)

Hi Newbie here, I thought Stinkie would be an appropriate name for me. . . So I’m either coming out in the best sympathy I can for my close best friend who has stage 4 stomach cancer or I hit some real issues with polyps ( it actually came up pull-ups which made me giggle ) or I just have active piles. We like to think my body is tuning in with my friend and sympathising with her. My first FIT test came back please repeat .. so I decided to pay £65 to do a private one as I can’t wait anymore. I have had a diagnosis of gastris from an upper gi endoscopy and I have had IBS since I was 18 (I’m now 45) we have colitis in the family with two blood immediates and I’m always anaemic, I am neutropenic and generally an unwell person. But the blood in the poopie is a new gag for me, the poo has gone from a burnt sienna to a dark brown hue and I have no idea what the white wiggly things were? All photo evidenced and sent to the GP with thanks they know me well. Back to it, I sent off my second fit test today, I’m expecting it to be positive as the GP also does. I bought a home kit one which was a basic kit to show if it was positive or negative, (guess what) so. Watch this space, I am an Autistic ADHD post menopausal single mum of 4 with a lazy greyhound, I shall keep you posted on my results if you enter ti know if I’m in sympathy or it’s polyps (pull-ups) Stinky x

  • Hi Stinky and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's stage 4 cancer diagnosis as well as your own issues. This must be a worrying time but fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long for your results, and they bring good news when they come through.

Many of our members have been in a similar situation, so hopefully some of them will stop by soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

If you have any questions playing on your mind whilst you wait, do feel free to give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
