Try not to be alarmed by these swollen lymph nodes. You did the right thing to go to your GP to get these looked at and it's good that they are being thorough in their investigations. As you can see reading our information page on your urgent referral , most people will not have cancer despite the 2 week referral but it's good that things are moving forward fast and I hope that you will get some definite answers soon. We've had countless members post on the forum about swollen lymph nodes and I just wanted to reassure you that there can be so many benign reasons explaining these enlarged lymph nodes so try, if you can, not to anticipate the worst and least likely possibilities. It's best to stay away from the temptation of carrying out online research via Google for example as this will inevitably bring up the worst possibilities. The wait for results can be a very anxious time and there are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news. We're keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.
