Swollen lymph nodes for a few years

Hi everyone,

I recently have had quite a panic due to the thought of lymphoma. For the last few years I have had this small bump on my skull behind my ear and I felt these bumps in my groin, under my jawline and recently checked and felt a bump in each of my armpits. I am a 15 year old boy, 5'8, I weight 65kg and I have been fairly lean for my entire life. I never really paid attention to these bumps as I was too young to understand and I never cared enough. The bumps are fairly firm, move a little bit and aren't sensitive relative to the areas around them. If possible I would like to hear any advice or experiences any of you have which could help me out.

Thank you.

  • I also forget to mention that I have not had any typical symptoms of lymphoma other than the lymph nodes.

  • Hi TrulyScrumdiddlyumptptious,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your swollen lymph nodes. It is impossible for us to make a diagnosis for you, because we are not doctors and don't know your medical history. However, if these bumps have been present for a while, it would be worth seeing your GP to see what he thinks. This could be something or nothing, but we are always advised to get any changes we notice checked out, as early as possible. Have you discussed your concerns with your parents? This should be the first place to start.

I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found, but please don't ignore these symptoms.

PIease keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
