Hi all, firstly Happy New Year!
I'm currently waiting to hear back on appointment availability to see a breast specialist about some indentations in my left breast. I first noticed them 2 and a half weeks ago when I raised my arm to rest it on my son's cabin bed and a sudden ache made me rub my hand over that area and I felt a raised, hard cord.
Googling the symptom very quickly brought up Mondor's as a probable cause, and that was also suggested by my GP. My GP told me to take ibuprofen 3 times a day for 4 weeks, but after 9 days of that (and no improvement in my breast) I started to get very intense kidney pain on one side. I felt like it could have been a kidney stone but after 3 days that pain resolved after I stopped taking the ibuprofen.
The indents to the upper left outer edge of my breast are still there. I also get an occasional stinging sensation deep in my armpit, an ache in the back/shoulder blade area on that same side, and persistent itching (no rash or redness) in a very small area under my armpit to the left of my breast. That's quite a lot going on and I guess I'm wondering if anyone else with confirmed Mondor's ever experienced stinging and pain in the back of the shoulder too?
My GP said Mondor's is common, yet everything I've read suggests it's rare. I know most breast changes turn out to be benign, but my mind is racing and I'm feeling a bit silly when it's probably nothing.
