Breast lump & referral to breast clinic - worried ☹︎

Hi all,

Just writing on here as I know some of you will be feeling the same as me at the moment! Found a lump whilst showering on Xmas day, went to the Doctors today who felt it and said it wasn’t mobile (which I don’t think is a good sign) and has referred me to Breast Clinic!
Petrified, I have a 9 year old daughter and keep thinking what if it’s breast cancer, what if I die, I’m terrified for her ️ ️ . I know I need to keep busy and positive as I don’t know anything yet, but it’s such a worrying time! My Mum literally got diagnosed with breast cancer around 4 months ago too. Don’t really know why I am posting on here just know that people will understand x

  • Hi, so I’ve been they examined me and gave me an ultrasound, they said it was hardened breast tissue, so nothing to worry about. I am very relieved although I keep thinking I don’t think they scanned the right part (but think that’s anxiety kicking in) the lump felt higher than what they marked to be scanned but think that’s because of the positioning I’m nearly standing up when I feel it and I was laid down, plus they gave me a full examination first so would have felt any abnormal lumps then wouldn’t they, so just need to breathe. X

  • I'm really happy for you!! That's great news, hardened breast tissue and dense breasts seem to be more common than ever now. They know what they are doing so would have given you a full and proper examination please don't worry and just breathe..you can rest assured your clear now x

  • So happy to hear it went well.xx

  • Hi Frenchie,

l’m delighted to hear that nothing untoward was found. Your consultant  would  most likely have found anything during your physical examination. This may be why your ultrasound concentrated on a different area, so the chances are that nothing was missed. However, if you notice further changes, don’t hesitate to have further investigation.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
