is it standard practice for all fibroadenomas in 30s+ to be biopsied? my head was spinning yesterday 

I had a biopsy on Tuesday last week for a very similar sounding lump. This shocked me as well. They said all the same things to me as you, it’s uncanny. I ended up here as they said they might ring me and tell me results. My follow up appointment is on Tuesday and I still haven’t had a phone call. So obviously starting to worry. I am 42 so a little older than you. Hope all goes well for you. 

do you have an in person appointment too? the consultant was going to give me one till I panicked and asked why then she said she'd call me instead as soon as the results were in ornone of her team would. gave me a leaflet on fibroadenomas, told me to come back if it grew and not to worry. I wad bit dazed!

just to add the consultant said my lump was very mobile which was a good sign so the first nurse's note was wrong. just need the good result quickly now! thanks for the reply and hope you're ok x

My consultant gave me an in person appointment just incase I “fall through the cracks” but she thought she would be calling me before that. I was a bit shocked as I wasn’t expecting to have a biopsy. They said they thought it was a fibroadenoma but they always biopsy as they occasionally get a surprise but they thought it would be fine. 
I never got the leaflet, I just googled

No probs, nice to talk to someone in the same boat! Fingers crossed for both of us!  :)

that makes sense and sounds reassuring.

years ago I had a biopsy for skin cancer which they thought was benign and it was. I still ended up with 14 stitches in each leg and 2 big wounds so guess they are just very thorough!

Hi shiv, it wasn’t good. I have cancer, which was a massive shock, it’s stage 1, oestrogen driven and I haven’t got the gene. Should need a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. They say they got it really e ly and can’t belive I could feel it. Juts in shock. My son got diagnosed with lymphoma in June so this isn’t my first cancer rodeo. Just in shock that all this could happen in a year!

oh god, I wasn't expecting that. I'm so sorry. 

I know someone who's son has just got the all clear from lymphoma. Obviously scary but doing great now.

I know this is awful timing for you but I'm so glad it's caught so early. I hope treatment is so smooth for you. Thinking of you and sending so much love xx
