Not sure what to do.

I'm 17 and had to take a stop to my job and education due to having server pain in my abdominal area since the 8th of November now, I've suffered with constant change in my stool and nausea and I've been tested for all sorts now and had no luck in finding the problem for the past 2 weeks I've had constant orange/red couler in my stool and I'm starting to get worried.

I've been checked for things to do with my ovaried and kidneys as well and everything checked out to be clear, I stared to take on my own research to see if there is any thing to suggest which has lead me to look into bowel cancer and honestly I have all the symptoms but I'm not sure how possible it is with me being 17 and not knowing anything about my blood relatives having anything to do with bowel issues other then my dad.

My non biological grandad died from cancer and my mum has cancer at the age of 5.

If anyone has any guidance on this please respond as you can image this is very scary for me and I'm at a lose.

  • Hi unknown456,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of your worries. Unfortunately it's very difficult to advise on this - only your doctor will be able to do so. I'm not sure where you currently are with regards to any tests or appointments you've had, and whether you're waiting for any more.

If you are, hopefully you'll get some answers and reassurance soon. If not, arrange to speak to your doctor again if symptoms are ongoing and you haven't had any answers.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • A really, perhaps silly question. But do you take Statins?  Just asking. Because when i started statins my poop colour changed to an orange colour. You really should go see a doctor or find some help on a proffesional level if you are concerned and keep knocking on the door till they answer. Just like what ben said.  Im not medically qualified. but i just see your post and thought it sounded familer. poop wise. As far as abdominal pain is concerned etc. I have no idea.

  • No never had them they put me on nefopam and audmonal for now but thank you.

  • I've been set off to do another stool sample and blood tests and had to have an rectal exam the exam out come was that where ever the blood has been coming from could be in a different area and possibly further up in my intestines but he's concerned and is on about sending me to a specialist.
