2nd urgent referral in 6 months bc, biopsy

In Feb it turned out to be a benign papilloma, since then I've had pain, itching, a little blood! There's also a tiny lump.

This time is the opposite to last time where there was something showing on the ultrasound. I'm waiting for results of the biopsy and trying to stay positive. Last time it was just the bleeding so I'm driving myself crazy and wondering why its happening again?

  • Hello TinkB85

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been to the breast clinic and that you're now waiting for the results of the biopsy that was taken. We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult.

The large majority of people who attend a breast clinic aren't diagnosed with cancer so statistically the odds are in your favour. Trying to remember that information might help you to stay positive while you're waiting.

It can often help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat with one of our nurses ahead of your appointment. I'm sure they will be happy to listen and offer any advice and information they can. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you have some news and reassurance from the specialists soon. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi I got the results today and its benign again woohoo!

They want to do a mammogram now and we'll see where we go from there but for now I've got the all clear

  • Hi Tink,

I'm delighted to hear that  your lump was benign. I hope that you get the mammogram soon and that you get the same results from that.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
