Thickened lining in pre menopausal women

Hi,

I posted about 8 days ago about waiting for a Hysteroscopy for what feels like an age. I have emailed in relation to accepting a cancellation which I have been told they have updated the team with but still no appointment. It has been seven weeks of waiting now after a long time waiting since initial scan showing enlarge uterus and 22mm lining.

I am getting so fed up, I am currently 18 days into bleeding and who knows when it will stop. I often bleed after intercourse ads get random twinges on of off, I’m tired and feeling rubbish. It started with intermittent spotting and bleeding occasionally after sex, but now the bleeding and spotting just seems continued. I just want to know what’s wrong with me and it’s scary when they mention potential cancer and then you have to wait for so long.

looking at other posts individuals who are fast tracked seem to be post menopausal and lots of posts relate to post menopausal experience. I’m just wondering if there is anyone with some pre menopausal experience that can offer some advice.

  • Hello Hopeful42,

What a shame that despite emailing you have been told there are still no appointments and no cancellations at the moment. Poor you it's a long time to have been waiting and it's completely understandable you are feeling a bit fed up especially as you have been experiencing continuous bleeding - it's normal to be feeling tired as a result. Hopefully it won't be too long now before you find out what is going on and if you noticed that the bleeding has got worse recently, I would suggest you get in touch with your GP and mention the fact you have been continuously bleeding for 18 days.

You understandably need some answers very soon and I hope that it won't be long now until you get some clarity. Try not to anticipate the worst though as there are so many things it could be other than cancer which could explain your symptoms. Hopefully you will hear from other ladies here who are pre-menopausal and who have had similar issues before and I am sure that they will be happy to share their story with you.

Everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern!

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you. I have been back in contact with GP and he has said he is going to write to consultant and ask for things to be moved along. He has very reassuring but agreed I have been waiting too long. Fingers crossed I will have some answers early in the new year.
