You did well to go to the doctor's after you discovered a couple of lumps in your left breast and it's good that they were thorough and have referred you to the breast clinic for a check up. Try not to be alarmed though by your referral as the majority of referrals turn out not to be cancer but it's important to be seen at the breast clinic and to have the necessary tests. It's good also that things are moving fast and that you won't have to wait too long to be seen. I hope you won't mind but I have edited your title slightly to mention your breast clinic appointment so that it is spotted more easily by someone else who has been to the breast clinic before for similar reasons. I hope that they will be along soon and share their experiences with you. 

You're doing the right thing in trying to hold it together for your two children even though it is really hard. If you can, keep well away from the temptation to look anything up on Google as this will only exacerbate your anxiety and provide no clear answers but it will give you instead the worst possible and least likely scenario!
