Ct with contrast after colonoscopy routine?

Hi,

I've had altered bowel habits for a year or so, weight loss the past month, fatigue, loss of appetite and some rectal bleeding. I went to the Gp and was sent for a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago. They removed a polyp and sent it for testing and I've heard nothing back. She did wrote on the letter no sign of bowel cancer. 

However today I received a letter in the post for a CT scan with contrast of my thorax, abdomen and pelvis. 

I'm just wondering is this is routine after a colonoscopy as I've had no contact from anyone. 

Hoping it's just them being thorough?

    Hi if they did write on the letter no sign of BC it does make you wonder why the need for the scan ,there obviously is a reason but I've never heard of it after a Colonoscopy after getting the all clear ,it would make me think is this letter meant for someone else ,just a thought because it does happen I would query it .
