Bled during smear

Hi everyone! I went for my smear 1 year after cin1 being discovered 4 weeks ago today, I never bled during my last smear (first one) or any of my colposcopies and still waiting for the results, nurs said between 2-4 weeks and I'm getting a bit anxious of how long the results are taking, how long was everybody waiting for their results? And if you bled during smear what were they? Tia :) x

Hi Josie,

I think it is not unusual to bleed during a smear. I bled for the first time during my last one and I have had many over the years including 2 abnormal ones over 30 years ago which both required treatment to get rid of some abnormal pre cancerous cells. I would think that you would have been called back quickly if there was anything to worry about xx

Just to say, my last smear result was normal so the bleeding didn’t mean anything x
