Breast burning/tingling

Hi. I did want to upload a picture so you could see.
But in my left breast i am feeling a burning/tingling feeling, it also feels like areola (i think thats what its called) has gone lighter and is really sensitive to the other (keeps going hard) and seems to be a little flatter than the other one, also the burning feeling feels like its in my armpit now also!

i have a referal made but this 2 week wait is scaring the life out of me, my anxiety is at its max to the point i cant eat  :(

ive had loads of bloods done and all come back ok, but i no bloods doesnt pick up cancer. I had an inflammatory blood test which came back as normal.

i am so so scared.

  • I didnt book it as ive had my appoitment come through but not till the 26th November its still a long wait 20 days it would of taken from the referal. The private scan was a lot of money which i was going to do for the consultant and the ultrasound but then if a biopsy is needed it was £750 just for 1 single biopsy :(

  • Hi N92,

It certainly mounts up very quickly, when the different tests are included. You also have the problem of having another wait to get back into the NHS system, if you need any further treatment. Now that you have your NHS appointment, you could phone again and say that you are willing to take a cancellation, if any come up. In the meantime, you can start a countdown to your appointment at last.

    Kind regards,

  • I will. I did say to him when i use a heatbad it helps but when i lift my arm i have feel a pulling inside but he couldnt feel anything abnormal. Its so hard to explain. I had chest pains about 6 weeks ago and that went, then i had the burning pain and now i have which he says is muscle pain which is why hes saying it muscle because how its changed. Im not sure why my nipple is so sensitive though but he said it is all linked even though breast have no muscles its tissue, muscle’s are underneath.
if it doesnt improve by xmas i will go back to the doctors.

not sure how i would of done it but i did have a chest infection about 4 weeks ago x

  • It's always easy to pull a muscle, by lifting something, which we often do without thinking of the consequences. I expect that this could also be a legacy from your chest infection too. Here's hoping that it settles down soon and you'll have no need for any further worry.

  • Is it dangerous to leave it a few months and monitor symptoms? I only ask as I’ve had mine for almost 2 months now and the doctor obviously told me it’s nothing to worry about but I’m not convinced :( . Luckily I don’t really have the aching pain anymore, but the affected breast has grown alot so I’m still worried. I was also thinking of waiting until Christmas before going back, but worried I might be leaving it a bit long

  • Hi if you're constantly worried about what might have been missed because you feel something isn't right its not going to go away ,I was just wondering if you could get a private appointment even if its just to get peace of mind ,I'm just thinking its what I would do if I wanted to be certain because I'd be like you forever wondering what if ,I hope you get sorted whatever route you take x

  • It's impossible to say - I am not a doctor, but I suspect that even a doctor, would struggle with this question. You might be better waiting to see if your pain stays away, or your bust gets smaller again.

    Kind regards,

  • I think im going to call my docs in the morning. I just dont feel right with the breast clinic the other day he said they was fine (no lumps) but i did say i couldnt feel a lump, its the way my one nipple has gone and my areola and he said it was fine but it really isnt, its so much different to the other. My chest feels swollen to and all around my armpit x

  • HI,

That is totally up to you. You know your own body better than anyone else. Do you think that you might feel more reassured if you saw another consultant? If so, make sure to ask for this.

Please let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

  • I wish i could upload a photo to show u. I feel like everyone thinks im going mad x

  • I would definitely get a second opinion ,go with your instinct that's what its there for ,there's obviously something going on that needs attention .

  • He said i had pulled a muscle in my rib which will radiate through my boob.
i have heaviness in it (no lumps) but my areola is pulling constantly to my skin of my boob at the top and my nipple has a slit in it, and also its puffy. I dont no how he said it was nothing as thats why i went there not becuz of a lump becuz of my nipple!! I feel like im back to square one again x

  • I would go back to GP and ask him /her to refer you back because there is definitely something going on ,hopefully before it gets any nearer to Christmas otherwise you might have to wait until next year ,I mean even if you have pulled a muscle surely that wouldn't cause the other things that are going on .
