Malignant looking tumour

Hello everyone sorry for the long post in advance here goes...

I was sent to gynecology as once again my pain got unbearable in my pelvis back and lower right tummy. The gynecologist didn't want to see me and I know my doctor had to push for me to be seen anyway after performing a painful internal scan the gynecologist confirmed I was bleeding which I shouldn't be as I had a partial hysterectomy 8 yrs ago but asked her colleague to take a look as she couldn't see anything wrong with my ovaries as I'd previously had a haemorrhagic cyst anyway the colleague happened to be the one my Dr had spoken to originally and i found her rather crass she told me it couldn't be gynecological as nothing was seen so referred me to general surgery as i was in a lot of pain it was assumed I could have appendicitis. Anyway to cut a long story short it was concluded it wasn't appendix causing pain and they would do a Ct scan with contrast the following day as they had no beds and it was after 10pm at night so we were sent home.

The following day I had bloods done and I requested they check my ca125 as it had been rising and falling for years and I just didn't feel right at all so this was done before my CT with contrast The results were back later on that afternoon i was taken into a room with my partner and told I had kidney stones by a Dr I'd never seen then the junior Dr I had meet a few times over the past few days flew into the room and interrupted the Dr and asked if he had read Mrs smiths results whuch he confirmed he had then they both left the room and said nothing I over heard them in the room next door telling Mrs Smith the same thing they had told us. We were left sitting in that room for 20 mins wandering what was going on we realised that GDPR had been breached that I'd been given someone's results.

Then another Dr and nurse entered the room Looking rather sollum and told us they had found a malignant looking tumour that they were quite worried about and that I'd need biopsies taken which were taken 2 wks ago tomorrow. I am awaiting to hear from the MDT I just wandered if anyone else had experienced any of this I feel like I don't trust the gynecology department I have be directed back to them again as it is now not a general surgery matter they don't know the origin of the tumour apparently it had blocked the view of my right ovary and I was told it didn't look like a typical ovarian cancer that they see everyday and that it could be from bone, bowel, liver, stomach.

  • Hello Toria-77

I'm so sorry to hear about all that you've been through recently. It's understandable that you may be feeling worried and that you are struggling to trust the team you've previously seen.

Has the hospital given you any indication about when you might have some news from the MDT? Hopefully, it won't be too long before you have some answers and information about what's going on for you and the recommended next steps.

In the meantime, I'd suggest getting in touch with the hospital PALS team. It's their role to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS. They may be able to support you with your care whilst you're waiting for a proper diagnosis.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can.

Keep in touch Toria-77 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
