Mole removed

Hello folks,

Just had a mole/melanoma removed from my neck on Friday. The Dermatologist didn’t sugar coat anything really and said ‘You get two things growing on skin moles and melanomas. That is not a mole’

I immediately had it removed and I have been told four weeks until the biopsy results will be know, is this a normal waiting time. My internal paranoia is really starting to prickle now! I appreciate any advise thoughts on time scales and likelihood of being confirmed as Cancer.

Apologises for being vague head is in a spin.

  • Hi Nick,

Wow, that consultant doesn't mince words - I hope he's wrong as only a biopsy can 100% confirm melanoma & some experts do get it wrong sometimes. If he isn't, hopefully it's been caught early.

Sadly, waiting times for results differ around the country and at the moment vary between 4 and 8 weeks. The waiting is the hardest part so try and keep busy and distracted. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
