Waiting and a few questions

Hi all, I'm new here and worried so much. I seen my GP yesterday who examined me after I found what didn't seem right whilst showering. The lump/mass feels rubbery, im trying not to touch it now as every time I feel it makes me worry more that its getting bigger. Yesterday and last night i had to feel quite a bit for it but I've just changed my bra and i felt it straight away which has freaked me out more. I'm wondering is it because my bras have support it that when I removed the bra it takes a while for breasts to go back down? Anyone experiences this

GP did say to me that my breasts are very lumpy and noduley, he also said he doesn't think it's cancer and doesn't feel like cancer. I'm hoping a GP wouldn't say that if he wasn't sure, and put me under false hope? What are your views on this? This is awful for anyone going through this, I hope you all get good news.

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    I am glad to hear that you have already seen your GP about this. Has he referred you to the breast clinic? Many of us have naturally lumpy breasts, which can make it hard to detect lumps. Try not to keep feeling for the lump, as this will only make the area sore. GPs tend to say things as they are and  they don't tend to hide the facts, so this sounds like good news. 

    Of all the people referred to the clinic, only 20% will get a breast cancer diagnosis and not all lumps are cancerous. Most lumps turn out to be benign cysts, or due to fibrous or hormonal changes.

    Hi Nails,

    It's just as well that he has referred you, as you'd never be happy that he was right otherwise. You should normally get your appointment within 2 weeks from the date of referral. Most of us find this one of the hardest parts of our cancer journeys. I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found, but do please let us know. Remember that we are always here for you.
