FIT Test result of 70.2

Hi All. I'm in my mid 20s and went to the GP on Monday after seeing blood on my stool. Turns out I had a fissure that may have been causing it. But my GP alerted me to the fact that I had a positive FIT test results 7 months ago that I wasn't told about. Turns out I was on holiday when they tried to contact me and then it was just never followed up. That test was a positive FIT test result of 70.2 and now I am petrified. Its been months since then. I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago due to IBS like symptoms which came back all clear. But now I am extremely concerned about this result and especially because it was months ago with no action since. My GP has arranged bloods and another FIT test. I don't know why I'm posting this on here but I thought someone could Iver some sort of advise or reassurance.

  • If you had a colonoscopy 2 years ago and it was clear it’s very unlikely to be from anything serious, I think they say it takes 6-10 years for polyps to form and then become cancerous.

i had a positive FIT a few weeks ago, my colonoscopy came back clear, I think it may have been caused by gastritis in my stomach. If you have an anal fissure now chances are you probably had one 7 months ago too and that was the cause of the positive test, especially if you have no other symptoms now
