6 week wait after biopsy?

Good morning,

I have had a previous lump biopsied which was fortunately benign, however I have had a rash on my breast for about 6 months which has shown no sign of improvement after anti biotics , or anti allergy medication. My breasts can also be uncomfortable and occasionally hot to touch.

I have received a couple more biopsies on the rash , and the waiting time has so far been about 6 weeks , and I'm due for my appointment next week. Has anybody waited this long and it then be cancer? It feels like a very long time for it to not be benign, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much.

    Due to demands on the health services, waiting times may vary, but I hope your appointment next week goes ok. Please don't be afraid to raise any questions or concerns you have, as it's important that you get the most out of your appointments.

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    As our moderator Anastasia, has said, waiting times vary from hospital to hospital. Unfortunately, there is no way to surmise what the results might be after this wait - they could still go either way. I am glad to hear that you have an appointment next week and hope that nothing untoward is found.  However, I do hope that you get an answer as to what is causing the rash.
