Cervical lumps

Hi. I went to get my copper coil removed yesterday. On examination the nurse found white lumps on my cervix, had a few other people come in and check. Their faces and voices turned from all jolly to concerned.

I’ve been bleeding for years, between periods, after sex and get pain, they asked if I had any other symptoms. I explained I’m getting physio for lower back and hip pain. I’d previously had silver nitrate treatment for ectropion. Been unable to get reading on smear tests in 7 years cos of bleeding.
the sexual health clinic rang me today with appointment for their doctor in 4 days time, which they said they were speaking too but not to worry as they will probably just say cysts and not want to see me. Before I left yesterday they made me promise that I would speak to my gp today and get an emergency appointment for a scan.

has anyone experienced this? I’ve been fobbed off for years by my gp telling me the pain is my ME/cfs and the bleeding is peri menopause.

I’ve been off work a few month and meant to return on Monday. Don’t have a clue if I should wait till I’ve seen the doctors or what.

thanks

  • Oh wow, this sounds just what I’ve been going through. I’ve had lower back, hip & groin pain since August. Had a blood test and came back all ok apart from vit D deficiency & menopause. Last week I went to see a back specialist and he said I had a bulging disc but wouldn’t explain the groin pain and needed a pelvic exam. I had that exam last night & was told I had a substantial polyp & it needs removing right away. I’m booked in for next week to have it done. I’m terrified! I had a clear smear test In august so I’m hoping that’s a good sign that’s all it is but I, like you have had years of no result smear tests! I would say you know your body, you know If something isn’t right, get the scan and all the tests you can to find out what’s going on. I send you lots of hugs & hope you’re ok xx

  • Thank you for your reply. All the bloods I have taken come back with very low vitamin d. The physio has put me forward for an MRI scan, I refused to do the exercises they gave me as it caused more pain. Also my partner had a bulging disc which ended up exploding from the exercises. I hope you get sorted.
move never been able to get a smear test since I had silver nitrate treatment in 2017, due to bleeding nonstop. I’ve raised this with my doctor who just put me on meds to stop bleeding which are only meant to be taken 4 days a month. Thry never listened to any other symptom.
hopefully all is just a precaution. Let me know how you get on and good luck.

  • Awww you’re welcome, I really hope you get to the bottom of what’s happening, it’s so scary! My GP originally told me that the hip back & groin pain was my body absorbing the vit D! How wrong she was!! The consultant I saw yesterday said he couldn’t be black and white with me until he’s done the op, my only thought is that this time next week it will be gone but still will have to wait for the results to come through. Keep asking for the tests & telling them you want answers! Keep me posted on how you are too! Hugs xxx

  • It’s very worrying the gps tend to just say something is down to a simple thing, mine told me for years that it’s just my me and fibromyalgia. This last few months the fatigue has felt totally different to what I ever have, and I never flare in the summer months. I had vitamin d and b injections which normally work wonders but did nothing.
mum at the consultant on Wednesday afternoon so will know more.

keep me updated and good luck xxx
