Lung nodule biopsy

Hi everyone

My partner went for an x ray for something unrelated and nodules were found. They found the same nodules 3 years ago. Three consultants have said they dont think they're cancer. He then went to the chest specialist and was told one had grown by 3mm in 3 years and so a biopsy was done. That was over a week ago and get results next week. Its hard not to be worried despite signs being positive but has anyone had similar situations?

  • Hello PB991,

A warm welcome to our forum. It's bound to be a worrying time for you and your partner after these nodules were found but it's extremely reassuring that these consultants have said that they don't think it's cancer and the same nodules were found three years ago. It's good though that this is being investigated thoroughly and a biopsy was done so that you know for sure what you are dealing with as one of these nodules was found to have grown a little. It won't be long now until you get your results and hopefully confirmation that this is not cancer related. Waiting for results can be really hard though and a week can feel like a lifetime. There are helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern. Other members of our community may have experienced something similar and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

    Best wishes,
