Thank you. I have been diagnosed with grade 2  iinvasive ductal cancer also pre cancerous cells. Need a mastectomy, just waiting for HER2 result to see if I need chemo first. I actually feel strangely calm now I know what I am dealing with! 

That’s so lovely of your hairdresser , they are so important , n actually In hairdresser now having my roots done in grey from holidays 

my hairdresser was amazing around my time when I bought wigs she cut them exactly the same as my hair put so much effort in and I didn’t use them afterwards xx 

I decided to have reconstruction as every time I undress it reminds me .Prosthesis were  good but when we had that hot weather I went flat ,so hot then 

Have they told you how long the waiting list is in your area? 

That’s useful to know. Jolamine recommended the breast forms that M&S sell, and I’m going to try those as they aren’t expensive.

I completely get what you mean about undressing- I just need to see how I go.

I was told three to four months ,I am going for the silicone implants .Less recovery time ,as I live on a farm life goes on and can’t be out of  action too long .Seeing surgeon on 7.November and hoping to have a date .

When I first had my mastectomies ,I didn’t think I would go for reconstruction,I went flat for many months .When the warmer weather came ,I felt some clothes fitted better with breasts .

I think it’s a very personal thing ,take your time and see how you feel . I wear the cheap sports bras ,you can take the pads out and pop prosthesis in ,very comfortable too xx

Yes- I was surprised when she arrived. If I do have chemo I’ll probably do the same as you and get her to cut wigs as she usually would my hair.

i got up and dressed, and makeup on today. My friend couldn’t believe it when she dropped in to see me. I’ve been out for a walk too, so not a bad day all in all xx

That’s great that you have been up dressed and out for a walk today. I feel so much better when I have been out in the fresh air, usually out walking the dog early, so I will be aiming to be out ASAP after surgery - without doggy to start with!! It sounds like you are doing amazing so soon after surgery xx 

Yes, it really does. My biggest problem is going to be boredom- I’m usually such an active person. Sitting around watching telly is not my idea of fun! Xx

Exactly- I need to get out for some fresh air. I go out for a walk of about an hour each day, sometimes with the dog, other times on my own. It just makes me feel better, and I live in the countryside, so it’s lovely to get out. I have an excitable Labrador, so won’t be able to walk her for a while, but might go with my husband when his takes her tomorrow. 
I feel much better than I expected, so I hope it helps you to feel more positive about your own surgery xx

That’s good. Remind me- do you have a date for your surgery yet? 

I love labradoodles! They are just as mad as Labradors I think, but maybe not as likely to jump into a muddy pond!

Hi just waiting for HER2 result which I will get on Monday when I see the breast surgeon, so no surgery date yet. Yep my labradoodle is bonkers! Loves muddy puddles but won’t go in water any deeper which I think is unusual as labs and poodles both like water!
