Cervical issues

hey! Not sure how to start so I guess I will jump right in.

about a year and half ago I started to notice I’d bleed after sex. So I booked a smear test. This was my first one which I am ashamed to admit as I was 33 at that time. It came back with possible CIN 3 and was referred and they confirmed she thought that’s what it looked like offered me the LLetz treatment while I was there. I took that option as I’m very much a anxious person (had she not offered me it there I know I’d of took months to book one etc) I waited for the results after I healed and kept to the rules etc no long baths no intercourse (I kept that up for an extra 2 week after to make sure). Results came back with good clear margins and no longer HPV positive . Then I had my follow up smear and check up 6 months later. Said I’d healed well. I explained I’m still getting bleeding after sex. He’s also on the large side so I know when he’s up there (which always use to feel good) it doesn’t anymore and I get pains when that happens. She mentioned there was a small tear there so she used some iron solution that kinda hurt to help it heal it she said it’s extremely small though. This was in January this year. I’m still getting these symptoms plus others now. Now it’s 50/50 chance that having a bowel movement starts me bleeding it ranges from pink in colour to bright red. (Definitely from vagina not bottom) I’m constantly wetting myself like I cannot hold it or I know because I’ve become wet. This isn’t every day but for instance I wet myself 3 times yesterday in my house. I’ve got a doctors appointment for the 3rd Nov. I mean a lot of my symptoms point to maybe cervical cancer but how likely is this with just having a clear smear test?

  • Hi EJ88,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It's good to hear you have an appointment coming up soon. You've done all the right things in terms of getting things checked when you had concerns. It's difficult to advise further on your issues, as only the doctors will be able to do that, usually after any necessary tests.

If others here have similar experience to share then hopefully you'll get some more replies soon.

I hope that things ease soon and that you can get some answers.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
