Dear everyone,
I feel for anyone worried about waiting for results. I have posted before ages ago about my on going breast problems, it's been a year since I had a lumpectomy to remove a 48 mm breast lump in my right breast. It sort of appeared overnight, well I didn't really notice it as I never did breast exams. I thought nothing more of it when it was a fibroadenoma. .The mammogram/ ultrasound before the op showed lots of different benign disease and dense breasts so I wasn't worried.
When I got the biopsy results from the fibroadenoma it was a shock to discover I have LCIS. . Lobular carcinoma in situ is abnormal cells in my breast lobules which means I have a bigger risk of cancer. As mum and auntie on my dad's side had breast cancer I have certainly woken up to the fact I am at high risk. I want to reassure everyone that breast clinics are brilliant as as soon as they find something they keep a close eye on you or take action promptly. I panicked earlier this year when I had another lumpy area . I had an MRI scan almost straight away. Thankfully it was some cysts /PASH like changes etc. Recently I have noticed a slight dent at the bottom of my left breast which only shows up with my arms raised. Perhaps I am posting because this has been bothering me and I need a prompt to contact the breast clinic again. My next mammogram is in April.
My breasts are lumpy painful and don't feel normal like they used to but at least I know I am being well looked after. I have mammograms every year/ ultrasound to catch anything early.
It is hard living with something that's not normal, waiting etc for results but please try not to worry and let the experts take care of you.
Thanks NHS.
Best wishes
