I'm really sorry to hear about the swelling you're contending with under your arm but I hope the draining you're having today will help relieve some of that pain and pressure you're experiencing.

Many of our members have contended with this issue so hopefully you won't have to wait long to receive their support and advice but in the meantime, you're very welcome to have a chat about this with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and will do all they can to help.

If you have a breast cancer nurse, do make sure you discuss this with them as well.

I really do hope this starts to get better for you soon and I wish you all the best with your recovery.

my oncologist had a different view to my consultant, please ask about Oncotype this coukd save you it did me xx bless you let me no how you get on x

Hi Lara. Definitely got to have chemo due to lymph node involvement. I could say no but then if it recurred I’d never forgive myself. I’m trying to look at it as a mop up and 4 months out of my life to ensure it’s gone. As we all know cancers a sneaky *** and I can’t give it that chance. Not what I want or expected but I need it to go completely xx

Right I see , did they offer Oncotype ? I had lymph involved but score was still under 10 and you need 26 for chemo ? Xx 

Morning Lara. I was offered a trial to see if it would come back but the oncologist said as lymph nodes involved to be on the safest path I should really go for chemo. They’re a chance it could have spread and is lurking somewhere. So 8 rounds one every 2 weeks. Never felt as miserable as I do today. Absolutely terrified and I am not normally fazed by anything. Xx 

Hi there , I’m sorry you’re facing chemo after what you’ve already gone through . It a b@@@ disease isn’t it? Consider giving one of the helplines a call or go / ring Maggie’s , No one can change what you are facing , but you can talk it over with empathetic people xx

I completely no that feeling you have today , but for me I was not having any chemo until I had fact of my tumour , these stsy cell stories wasn’t enough for me , I would not accept just incase , so I requested Oncotype and score was low so in my case if I had said yes before getting my facts it would have actually done more harm than good I also had lymph involvement, I don’t in any way want to change your mind or anything like that but just wanted you to no of my situation lovely xx
