1st ENT appointment

I have my first ENT appointment this week following the all clear of blood results, stool results and clear xrays iv also had antibiotics ect. But I still have a horsey voice, lump feeling in throat, trouble swallowing, pain to my throat, ears and teeth and the feeling of something is stuck constantly. Obviously i havnt been told what it is, as doctors are unsure too. But my mind is going crazy thinking its just a severe case of laryngitis but i had that before and this feels different but then panicking t hinking the worse.

What will happen at the appointment please as its an urgent referral??

Just want to try and be prepared thankyou .

  • Hi there I had an ENT appointment in June the consultant will ask you about your symptoms, they will then put a camera down your throat and depending what they see will either send you off for more specific blood tests, mri scan or ultrasound or may take a biopsy. I had an mri and was giving stronger antibiotics and steroids as he told me the ones that the Gp were prescribing me was not strong enough. Mri was clear and I got discharged.

  • Thankyou for responding, my head is just filled with worry. I have been given amoxicillin and lanzaprozole last course is today. I have had a full blood count done and xrays already and I'm currently off work. I just want to return but I have no voice either and when I do try I get out of breath easily. I'm glad you got the clear it can be so worrying at times. Thankyou again.

  • Hello just wondering how you got on? I've just been referred for similar symptoms as you as they've lasted for many weeks.
