i haven’t posted here for a long time as I have been trying to get my life back on track

To cut a long story short after seeing my doctor for over two years for a cut that had turned into a large fungating growth I finally got to see a dermatologist who arranged for it to be removed

Results were not good a 10mm nodular melanoma with a mitosis of 8.  Wle and slnb carried out told all was clear and stage was 2c. Due to the delay at the hospital for a skin graft on my foot I was advised to let it self heal

Pet scans with contrast were carried out and I was told they were clear only one wobble on the brain scan which they said was ok

I had a ct scan with contrast in August and finally got the results on Tuesday that the nodule in my lung had grown to 11mm

Excuse me what nodule? She tried to gloss over it saying they were sure they told me that it was detected over 2 years ago on my first pet scan and it measured 5mm  It was the first I had heard of it   Surely as I had breast cancer 4 years previously and hadn’t been signed off they should have said something 

The scan has now been referred to the lung mdt team for further consideration

As you can imagine I feel like I have been hit by a bus  I tried to ask what the implications were and she said that it could be nothing or mets from the melanoma or breast cancer or a new lung cancer  

My melanoma was a really nasty one and I feel that they should have told me or offered me treatment when they found the original nodule and my fear I was stage iv from the start is overwhelming me

Sorry to ramble on but I was so let down by my gp the first thing my cancer nurse said to me was don’t worry we are here for you now
