Update! Hard firm lump fixed biopsy clear!!!!

Update!!

I created another post about the worry ive had over the past few weeks about a hard fixed lump in the inner part of my breast. As I'm sure many have googled it points to the worse case scenario. Well mine is all clear!!!!

After biopsies in two different areas, i got the phone call last night that my lumps are just benign fibrous changes there was a long fancy word the Doctor used, but i was in tears thinking the worse. Its normal changes to breast tissue im 38 and apperently in that age group pre menopausal boobs!!

i just wanted this morning to give hope as my ultrasounds they werent 100% sure what it was but indicated it could be benign. Then i got a letter a few days ago saying more detail of how my lump looked which said a little asymmetrical but overall bengin. I freaked out at the thought of it not being a completely normal edge again dr google has a lot to answer for and my brain again went into over thinking!

Praying for everyone on here for good results too and wishing anyone reading this lots of luck who is worried. My advice would be definitely dont google. Talk to your friends aa this helped me so much and i realised just how many of them have been through this and had the all clear too! Talking is knowledge for sure! Keep busy during the waiting process and pray and remain hopeful. Sending love to everyone .  Xx

  • Hi cathy

So glad you got the all clear.

I have a close friend waiting on an urgent referral for the same thing  (a hard immobile lump which is quite big) and she is very anxious given it’s size and fact GP described it as immobile.

As you say looking at google shows worse case for hard fixed lumps. Can I ask how big your lump was and if it was confirmed as being fixed/immobile by consultant.

I’ve told her not to google anything but she is struggling to stay positive. She would suffer from hormonal breast pain each month and I am hoping this is related given her age of 42.  Fingers crossed it’s fibrocystic related

and thanks for sharing your story!

  • Hi Em801

Im sorry your close friend is going through the same type of experiance finding a hard immobile lump. My lump was 1cm but was fixed and immobile and the breast nurse and consultant said the same. The ultrasound person even said it had a bit of a strange looking egde in part and all these things pointed to something more serious. A private consultant I saw in the meantime whilst waiting for my nhs appointment said he wasn't concerned and put my mind at ease a little but the worry was very real.

I really hope your friends lump is the same and just changes as we get older. I have dense breasts so found mine when it was small. Perhaps your friends has been there and just small and is hopefully benign. Please come back to let us know how she gets on I'm crossing everything for her.

I'll also tell you while I'm here that the amount of friends of mine also referred for hard lumps is quiet amazing too. All with larger lumps than mine that they described to me were hard too. Ultrasound didn't confirm what they were so 4 had to have biopsys too and all normal breast changes.

    Stay positive x

  • Thanks Cath120 for taking time to reply.

my friends lump is much larger which coupled with it being immobile is making her think the worse.

Where we live the urgent referral is currently delayed so 5 weeks instead of 2 weeks waiting list but she is going private and has an appointment in a week which will be nearly 3 weeks from first noticing lump.

Whilst it is large I’m hopeful it may not be anything bad. She has had no skin changes etc which I’m taking as a positive. Going to try and take my own advice and avoid google now x
